Beautiful miniature of gemmy smokey Quartz associated with Albite, Gaidonnayite, Hilairite and Rutile.  The largest Quartz measures 1.8 x 1.6 cm.  There are few tiny Gaidonnayite crystals while small crystals of Hilairite are scattered all over the specimen.  Rutile is found as small aggregates upon the Quartz crystals.  Collected in 1994.  Notice the nice red fluorescence of Albite.

Locality: Poudrette Quarry, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec Province, Canada (type locality for Gaidonnayite and Hilairite).

Specimen size: miniature.  4.8 x 2.8 x 2.4 cm.
